The South Cape Children’s Choir and South Cape Youth Choir achieved remarkable honours after delivering exceptional performances at the 74th European Music Festival for Young People (EMJ) in Pelt, Belgium, one of the continent’s most respected youth music gatherings. The 2026 vocal edition of the festival, held from 30 April to 4 May, brought together approximately 100 children’s and youth choirs and nearly 4,000 young musicians from across the world.Their achievements at the festival marked a triumphant highlight of the choirs’ 2026 concert tour through Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, where they served as proud young ambassadors for South Africa.
